“40 million Americans suffer from chronic sleep disorders, with an additional 20 million experiencing occasional sleep problems”.

Step into the Sleep Bubble – an informative website where scientific research is broken down and transformed into digestible ‘how-tos’ for a better night’s sleep.
Allow me to make an educated guess – you’re battling with an eternal sleep issue – it might be insomnia, constantly waking through the night, or the fact that you work night shifts.
You face loneliness, impossibly long nights. The best you hope for is a few hours, here or there. Which is why you’re here, bleary-eyed and exhausted, reading this in the midst of the night, trying to find answers.
And funnily enough, that’s how all this began.
This site started because a friend of mine could never sleep. For those that don’t know of the problems caused by sleeplessness, it can seem like nothing more than an inconvenience. Yet those that do know, know that it can lead to serious health problems – issues such as not functioning properly in modern life, relationship problems, financial strain, and job stress.
Sleep issues can exacerbate, and even lead, to medical conditions, such as bruxism, skin problems, and joint pain. I understood what was happening, and being a friend, I wanted to help.
I hit Google with steely determination, but what did I find?
I uncovered a mix of hocus-pocus and half-truths, in the place of real, solid, concrete, science. On one side of the spectrum were a line-up of websites and people with something to sell. On the other end of the spectrum, was medical research – yes, it was peer-reviewed, but it was too jargon-laden and complex to pick through at the best of times (let alone in the fog of insomnia) – much of it was also locked behind paywalls.
35% of Americans report sleep quality to be ‘poor’ or ‘only fair’ – and 67% of these people also report ‘poor’ or ‘only fair’ health”.
– The National Sleep Foundation
Sleep Bubble was born…
A thriving hub of resources to answer every question about sleeplessness.
5 years on, and we have an army of previous sleep-starved people behind us – on Google, Pinterest and Facebook. Our followers are into their hundreds, and our readership is growing by the day. And along with Sleep Bubble, a passion was also born – which would lead me – Founder and Editor of Sleep Bubble – on a journey to eventually gaining an Associate’s Degree in Polysomnography (known as Sleep Study, to the Layman).
Today, our team of experts – each of whom is professionally qualified in creating scientific fact-based, checked, and triple-checked content. Their musings are clear and concise. And their research begins with experts (such as renowned Professors of Clinical Neuroscience), and peer-reviewed papers (like the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine).
Together, we’re driven by making a difference in the lives of the sleep-hungry and energy-poor. So that’s us. And with that, I bid you adieu. Now go forth, read, and sleep.
